# TAIL > The copytrading layer for social DeFi. Follow supported traders, receive signals, and choose whether to copy under your own rules. Last updated: 2026-09-22 ## Current and planned coverage TAIL currently trades on Solana, Robinhood Chain, and BNB Chain. The extension supports token-page overlays on Axiom, GMGN, DEX Screener, and MevX. Base trading, PumpSwap profile copying, and Axiom/GMGN callout copying are planned expansions. These are product guides, not an execution API. Quotes and account state in the app are authoritative for a specific transaction. Trading can lose money. ## Guides - [Getting started with TAIL](https://tail.family/docs/getting-started.md): Get to know TAIL: sign in, choose traders, try paper copying, set your rules, and understand the difference between watching and spending. - [TAIL copy trading modes, sizes, limits and exits](https://tail.family/docs/copy-trading.md): Understand TAIL’s copy trading rules: Off, Paper and Live modes, dollar sizes, market-cap profiles, entry limits, daily limits and proportional exits. - [TAIL signals, theses, alerts and planned callout tracking](https://tail.family/docs/signals-and-alerts.md): The difference between observed trades, theses and callouts in TAIL, plus how alerts and supported terminal overlays fit together. - [How TAIL wallets and USDC deposits work](https://tail.family/docs/wallet-and-deposits.md): Find your TAIL wallet, choose the right USDC deposit source, understand the deposit address and track the arrival of funds. - [Withdrawing from TAIL: preview, confirmation and status](https://tail.family/docs/withdrawals.md): Review a TAIL withdrawal: amount, destination, conversion, estimated arrival, confirmation and what to do if the result is still pending. - [TAIL trading fees and referral rewards](https://tail.family/docs/fees-and-referrals.md): Understand TAIL’s standard trading fee, referral discount, route and network costs, and how referral rewards are calculated. - [TAIL supported chains, terminals and planned integrations](https://tail.family/docs/chains-and-terminals.md): See the difference between TAIL’s trading chains, deposit sources, terminal overlays and planned Base, PumpSwap, Axiom and GMGN integrations. - [TAIL wallet ownership and account security](https://tail.family/docs/security.md): Understand TAIL wallet ownership, server-side copying, account access, key exports and the confirmations used for money actions. - [TAIL troubleshooting: skipped copies, deposits and extension issues](https://tail.family/docs/troubleshooting.md): Find the right place to check when a TAIL copy is skipped, an extension overlay is missing, a deposit is pending, or a withdrawal needs attention. ## Resources - [Get the extension](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hnhoeodphhdfafcfkhopdnjgeclaokgd): the Chrome Web Store listing, one click and it updates itself. - [Direct download](https://tail.family/download/): works whether or not the store does and always carries the newest build; install is unzip, Developer mode, Load unpacked, pin and sign in. - [TAIL token](https://tail.family/token/): Boost and up to 75% fee cashback, both coming soon. Canonical: https://tail.family/docs/getting-started/ Updated: 2026-09-21 Get to know TAIL: sign in, choose traders, try paper copying, set your rules, and understand the difference between watching and spending. ## The short answer TAIL is the copytrading layer for social DeFi. Start by following supported traders, then choose whether to receive alerts, paper trade, or enable live copying under your own rules. ## Start with a person, not a button. TAIL brings the traders you follow into the places you already trade. The web app is where you manage your account, wallet, copy rules, and positions. The extension brings trader context and alerts into supported terminals. Current trader discovery starts with FOMO. New sources, including PumpSwap profiles and Axiom and GMGN callouts, are planned. The journal explains what is coming; the coverage guide distinguishes it from what is available. ## Set up your account. 1. Open the TAIL app and sign in using an available sign-in option. 2. Open Wallet to see the wallets associated with your account. Use the app’s deposit flow when you are ready to fund live trading. 3. Add the traders you want to tail. A follow is a choice about whose activity you want to see; it is not a reason to assume that live copying is on. 4. Open your copy settings and check the mode before you continue. ## Install the extension. There are two ways to install TAIL. [The Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hnhoeodphhdfafcfkhopdnjgeclaokgd) is the one to use: it installs in one click and it updates itself, so you stay current without doing anything. tail.family/download/ is a direct download that works whether or not the store does, and it always carries the newest build — the store's copy can be a version behind it, because Google reviews every update before it goes out. Either way it is the same extension with the same id, so nothing you set up is lost by choosing one. The steps below are the direct download's: it arrives as a folder you load into your browser yourself, which is why it takes four steps rather than one. 1. Unzip the download. 2. Open your browser's extensions page and turn on Developer mode. 3. Choose Load unpacked, and pick the folder you unzipped. 4. Pin TAIL to your toolbar and sign in. ## Keep the folder, and how updates work. Your browser runs TAIL from the folder you picked, so leave it where it is. Moving, renaming or deleting that folder stops the overlay, and putting it back or loading it again fixes it. When a newer version is out, the TAIL popup says so. Download it, unzip it, and Load unpacked the new folder the same way — it replaces the old copy and you stay signed in, because every download carries the same extension id. One exception: a copy loaded before 22 September 2026 has a different id. Remove that one first, or both copies draw their own overlay on the same page. ## Choose what following means. | Mode | What happens | | --- | --- | | Off | Keep the trader context and alerts; automatic copies are off. | | Paper | Track eligible copies using quotes without placing real orders. | | Live | Eligible signals can place real trades from your TAIL wallet, within your settings. | ## Make the rules yours. Check your size per copy, daily limits, entry constraints, and exit settings. Market-cap profiles can give different sizes and rules to different ranges. A setting on a profile can change how a particular copy is handled, so review the active profile as well as the account defaults. Paper mode lets you understand the flow without sending an order. A paper result is a simulation, not a promise of the price a live trade will get. ## Know where to look afterwards. Activity explains what happened to a signal: copied, skipped, or refused. Your positions and receipts show your own fills. If a trade was skipped, read its reason before changing a limit; the limit may be doing exactly what you asked it to do. Live copies run on TAIL’s servers. Closing your laptop is not the way to switch them off. Change your copy mode in the app when you want automatic copying to stop. ## Related guides - [Their move. Your decision. Canonical: https://tail.family/docs/copy-trading/ Updated: 2026-09-21 Understand TAIL’s copy trading rules: Off, Paper and Live modes, dollar sizes, market-cap profiles, entry limits, daily limits and proportional exits. ## The short answer TAIL copies eligible activity from supported traders using your own settings. Your mode, trade size, active profile, entry constraints, and exit rules determine whether and how a signal becomes a trade. ## A signal still has to qualify. Tailing someone does not mean every move becomes your trade. TAIL evaluates supported signals against your settings and the available route. A stale signal, insufficient balance, unsupported token, or failed safety check can stop the copy. Check Activity for the result. A skip means the trade did not qualify under the condition shown. A failed or uncertain execution needs its own result checked; do not assume that a missing success screen means nothing was sent. ## Size the copy, not the trader. Your size is separate from the trader’s size. You can choose an account-level amount and use market-cap profiles for different ranges. Profiles can also control adds, split buys, and exits. The app shows the active configuration; review it before enabling Live. A split buy spreads an entry into tranches. An add follows an additional entry into an existing position where your profile allows it. Both are different from copying the entire value of someone else’s purchase. ## What the limits are for. | Control | What to check | | --- | --- | | Signal age | How old a signal can be before TAIL skips it. | | Size and daily limit | The amount per copy and whether the daily ceiling is enabled. | | Slippage and entry settings | The execution conditions you are willing to accept. | | Market-cap range | Which profile applies to the token and what that profile allows. | ## Follow the exit, or set your own. A proportional exit follows the share of the trader’s position that they sell, applied to your copied position. If they sell a quarter, the intended copy exit is a quarter of your corresponding lot, not a quarter of everything in your wallet. Your own stop, take-profit steps, and trailing stop can also govern exits. Review the settings for the position you are opening. Prices can move through a trigger, liquidity can disappear, and a route can fail; a configured stop is not a guaranteed sale price. ## Why your result can differ. The trader moves first. Your signal is observed, checked, quoted, signed, and sent afterwards. Price, liquidity, fees, and timing can change between their fill and yours. Use your receipt to judge your trade. It should tell you what your wallet spent or received and link to the transaction. Another trader’s profit is context, not your result. ## Related guides - [Know what you’re following.](https://tail.family/docs/signals-and-alerts/) - [Know what the trade costs.](https://tail.family/docs/fees-and-referrals/) - [When a move doesn’t go through.](https://tail.family/docs/troubleshooting/) --- # Know what you’re following. Canonical: https://tail.family/docs/signals-and-alerts/ Updated: 2026-09-21 The difference between observed trades, theses and callouts in TAIL, plus how alerts and supported terminal overlays fit together. ## The short answer An observed trade and a written thesis are different signal types. TAIL’s existing workflow starts with supported FOMO activity; native Axiom and GMGN callout tracking is planned and should not be confused with the extension’s terminal overlays. ## Keep the source attached. | Signal | What it tells you | | --- | --- | | Observed trade | A supported trader’s transaction was observed. Your eventual execution still has its own price and result. | | Thesis | A trader shared an idea. It is not, by itself, proof of a purchase or an entry price. | | Axiom / GMGN callout | A planned additional signal source. Native callout tracking and copying are not available yet. | ## Alerts let you decide in the moment. The tape brings supported activity from your tail list into one place. Buy and sell alerts have their own settings. With the extension, an alert can appear while you are on a supported terminal, so you do not have to leave a separate feed open. An alert and an automatic copy are different outcomes. Read the mode and result rather than assuming a notification spent money. A quick-buy action is a manual order using the preset you select. ## The overlay is context on your existing terminal. On a supported token page, Who’s in brings available FOMO holder context into the page: the traders, their bags, and their entries. It gives you a route to inspect and tail a trader without switching your whole trading setup. The overlay being available on Axiom or GMGN does not mean TAIL is reading their native social callouts. That is a separate planned integration, described in the journal. ## A thesis is an explicit choice. Where thesis copying is available, it has its own setting. Enabling trade copying should not be read as an instruction to buy every idea a person posts. Check the signal type and the settings the app shows for your account. Future social sources will be documented here as they become available. The aim is one place to follow people across social DeFi, with the source and your permissions remaining clear. ## Related guides - [Their move. Canonical: https://tail.family/docs/wallet-and-deposits/ Updated: 2026-09-21 Find your TAIL wallet, choose the right USDC deposit source, understand the deposit address and track the arrival of funds. ## The short answer Use Wallet → Deposit in the TAIL app, choose a supported source chain, and send only the asset shown to the address generated for that choice. Deposit chains and trading chains are different lists. ## Use the address for the job. Your TAIL account has wallets for trading. The deposit flow can also give you a dedicated address that routes a supported deposit into your balance. A wallet address and a routed deposit address are not interchangeable instructions. Always take the destination, source chain, and accepted asset from the current deposit screen. Do not reuse an address from an old screenshot or substitute a different token because its name looks similar. ## Make a deposit. 1. Open Wallet in the app and choose Deposit. 2. Select the chain you are sending from. Read the accepted asset and the quote or fee information shown. 3. Copy the displayed address and verify it in the sending wallet along with the chain and asset. 4. Send the supported asset, then use the deposit tracker and your balance to check its progress. ## A source chain is not a trading promise. Base is already a supported deposit source. That does not mean Base token copying is live. Routed deposits are intended to arrive as Solana USDC in your TAIL balance, while supported trades have their own chain coverage. The app’s current deposit choices are authoritative. Available routes can change, and the quote is specific to the route you selected. ## If the money has not appeared. First check the sending transaction, chain, asset, and destination. Then check the deposit tracker. A transaction being sent is not the same as the routed deposit having arrived. A transfer made directly to a trading wallet can appear in its balance without a routed-deposit history row. If you are comparing history with your balance, keep that distinction in mind. Do not send a second transfer simply to make a history row appear. Only send the asset the deposit screen accepts. Other assets may not be recoverable through the deposit route. ## Related guides - [Your money, on its way.](https://tail.family/docs/withdrawals/) - [Where TAIL goes with you.](https://tail.family/docs/chains-and-terminals/) - [When a move doesn’t go through.](https://tail.family/docs/troubleshooting/) --- # Your money, on its way. Canonical: https://tail.family/docs/withdrawals/ Updated: 2026-09-21 Review a TAIL withdrawal: amount, destination, conversion, estimated arrival, confirmation and what to do if the result is still pending. ## The short answer Start a withdrawal in the TAIL app, choose a supported destination, and review the amount and route before confirming. Follow the withdrawal’s status and transaction evidence until it has arrived. ## Read the plan before you confirm. The amount in your account and the amount available for a particular withdrawal can differ. The plan accounts for the route, fees, and any balances that must be converted or cannot be included. Check what leaves, what is expected to arrive, and what stays behind. Max is a request to calculate the available withdrawal; it is not a promise that every asset can be moved through every route. ## Check these four things. 1. Destination: the address and chain must be the ones you intend to receive on. 2. Asset and amount: read the expected received amount, not only the amount leaving TAIL. 3. Conversion and fees: inspect the plan when balances need converting. Market movement can change the final result. 4. Confirmation: complete only the confirmations requested by the current flow, then keep the status or receipt until arrival is established. ## Pending is a state, not an invitation to retry. Some withdrawals have more than one step. A source transaction can finish while the destination leg is still in progress. The final receipt and destination transaction are the useful evidence of arrival. If the app reports a pending or uncertain result, check that existing withdrawal before starting another. If the route is refused before sending, read the reason and review the updated plan. ## A hold has to be resolved through the app. Security checks may ask for additional confirmation or place a hold on a new destination. Use the account’s available confirmation flow. Do not share a private key, sign an unexplained transaction, or send funds to someone claiming they can release a hold for you. The app is the place for withdrawal actions. The extension may participate in a device confirmation; it is not a separate withdrawal wallet. ## Related guides - [Get your balance ready.](https://tail.family/docs/wallet-and-deposits/) - [Keep control of the important parts.](https://tail.family/docs/security/) - [When a move doesn’t go through.](https://tail.family/docs/troubleshooting/) --- # Know what the trade costs. Canonical: https://tail.family/docs/fees-and-referrals/ Updated: 2026-09-21 Understand TAIL’s standard trading fee, referral discount, route and network costs, and how referral rewards are calculated. ## The short answer TAIL’s standard trading fee is 1% per buy or sell. Eligible referred accounts have a 0.9% TAIL fee. Route and network costs are separate, and your quote and receipt are the place to inspect the actual trade. ## The TAIL fee is only one part. The standard TAIL fee is 1% of a buy or sell. A qualifying referral reduces that TAIL fee to 0.9%. The discount applies to TAIL’s fee, not to every cost on a route. Network and route costs can apply in addition. A quoted price impact is also different from a fee: it describes how the order’s size affects the price in the available liquidity. Read the quote before sending and the receipt after execution. ## A referral has its own share. On eligible referred trades, the referral allocation is 0.25% of the trade value. It comes from the TAIL fee, not from the friend’s gas and not as an extra charge on top of the discounted fee. Rewards accrue when the route confirms the fee was paid. For example, a $100 eligible trade at the 0.9% TAIL fee has a $0.90 TAIL fee, with $0.25 allocated to the referral reward. That is 25 basis points of the trade, not 25% of the discounted $0.90 fee. This illustrates the schedule; the Referrals page records what a particular trade actually earned. ## Accrued and paid are different. Use the Referrals page to distinguish what has accrued from what has actually been paid. The payout floor is $5, or the delivery cost if that is higher. At the 0.25% allocation, $5 corresponds to $2,000 of eligible trading. Smaller amounts accrue until the payout conditions are met; a pending reward is not money that has already arrived. A successful payout should have a recorded result. Use that result and your balance when reconciling rewards, rather than calculating an expected payment from someone else’s trading volume. ## Keep the evidence with the number. Quotes estimate a trade before it happens. Receipts record the result afterwards. Route conditions, fees, and price can change between the two. If you are checking a cost, start with the specific trade’s receipt and transaction. A generic fee schedule explains the product’s terms; it cannot establish what a particular transaction paid. ## Related guides - [Their move. Canonical: https://tail.family/docs/chains-and-terminals/ Updated: 2026-09-22 See the difference between TAIL’s trading chains, deposit sources, terminal overlays and planned Base, PumpSwap, Axiom and GMGN integrations. ## The short answer TAIL currently trades on Solana, Robinhood Chain, and BNB Chain. The extension supports token-page overlays on Axiom, GMGN, DEX Screener, and MevX. Base trading, PumpSwap profile copying, and Axiom/GMGN callout copying are planned expansions. ## Four lists. Four different jobs. | Coverage | What it means | | --- | --- | | Trading chains | Where TAIL’s supported orders can execute: Solana, Robinhood Chain, and BNB Chain. | | Deposit sources | Where supported funds can enter the routed deposit flow. Choose from the current app list; Base is a deposit source. | | Terminal overlays | Where the extension adds token-page context: Axiom, GMGN, DEX Screener, and MevX. | | Trader and signal sources | Where the people and activity you follow originate. Current discovery starts with FOMO. | ## Use TAIL on a supported terminal. With the extension available and enabled for the site, open a supported token page. The overlay provides the context available for that token. A terminal supporting a chain does not automatically make that chain tradable by TAIL. Get the extension from [the Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hnhoeodphhdfafcfkhopdnjgeclaokgd): it installs in one click and keeps itself updated. tail.family/download/ is the direct download, which always carries the newest build — the store's copy can be a version behind it, because Google reviews every update before it goes out. ## What is coming next. | Planned addition | The intended change | | --- | --- | | Base trading | Extend the chains on which supported TAIL trades can execute. | | PumpSwap trader profiles | Add another place to discover traders and choose whose activity to copy. | | Axiom and GMGN callouts | Bring native social ideas into explicit alert and copy workflows, with their source preserved. | ## An integration is not a partnership claim. TAIL is independent of the platforms and terminals named here. Their names identify the places the product works with or plans to support; they do not imply endorsement. Planned features are not available switches. The journal will explain each release, and this guide will be updated when the supported flow changes. ## Related guides - [Your first tail.](https://tail.family/docs/getting-started/) - [Know what you’re following.](https://tail.family/docs/signals-and-alerts/) - [Get your balance ready.](https://tail.family/docs/wallet-and-deposits/) --- # Keep control of the important parts. Canonical: https://tail.family/docs/security/ Updated: 2026-09-21 Understand TAIL wallet ownership, server-side copying, account access, key exports and the confirmations used for money actions. ## The short answer TAIL uses account wallets and server-side execution for enabled copies. Your account controls, sign-in, wallet keys, and transaction confirmations all matter; automated trading is not a reason to share a private key or ignore a signature request. ## Know what stays running. Live copying runs on TAIL’s servers, so it can continue when your browser is closed. Use the copy settings to stop automatic copying. Closing a tab or signing out of one device should not be treated as proof that server-side copying has been disabled. The app shows the account and its wallets. Check that you are signed in to the account you intend to use before changing settings or moving funds. ## A key export is access to the wallet. The Wallet page provides the wallet’s key-export flow. Anyone who obtains a private key can control the associated wallet. Do not paste it into a support message, a website form, or a chat, including an AI chat. Use the official app and inspect the destination of a link before signing in. A person asking for your private key to fix a deposit or withdrawal is asking for control of the wallet. ## Read what you are confirming. A sign-in, a device confirmation, and a transaction signature are different actions. Check the account, destination, asset, and amount in a money-action flow rather than approving because the request appeared after a familiar button. The product applies limits and execution checks, but those do not eliminate market risk, token risk, or every possible failure. A copied trade can lose money, and a token that was sellable can become difficult or impossible to exit. ## Use the current account state. If a confirmation is refused or your account appears disconnected, stop at that result and follow the app’s recovery path. Do not bypass the refusal with an unfamiliar signer or a different website. The troubleshooting guide separates a missing signal, a rule-based skip, and an execution refusal so you can inspect the right part of the flow. ## Related guides - [Your money, on its way.](https://tail.family/docs/withdrawals/) - [When a move doesn’t go through.](https://tail.family/docs/troubleshooting/) - [Their move. Your decision.](https://tail.family/docs/copy-trading/) --- # When a move doesn’t go through. Canonical: https://tail.family/docs/troubleshooting/ Updated: 2026-09-21 Find the right place to check when a TAIL copy is skipped, an extension overlay is missing, a deposit is pending, or a withdrawal needs attention. ## The short answer Start with the specific result in Activity, Wallet, or the transaction receipt. A missing signal, a rule-based skip, and an execution refusal are different problems and should not be handled by repeating the same money action. ## A trader moved, but I did not copy. 1. Check that you are signed in to the intended account and that the trader is on the relevant tail list. 2. Check the copy mode. Off does not place automatic copies; Paper does not send a real trade. 3. Find the signal in Activity. If it is missing, check whether that trader, source, chain, and signal type are supported. 4. If it is present, read the skip or refusal reason. Review the active profile, size, balance, daily limit, and entry settings before changing anything. ## The extension overlay is missing. Confirm that the extension is installed and enabled for the terminal, then check that you are on a token page rather than a list, a home page or a search. The overlay recognises a token page by the shape of the route and the address in it, on every chain — so a chain TAIL does not trade still shows the token, with “TAIL doesn’t trade here yet” and no buy buttons, rather than nothing at all. If the terminal recently changed its page layout, the adapter may need an update. You can still open the TAIL app to check your account. Repeatedly relinking an account is not a useful fix for a page-layout issue. An old copy is the common one. If the popup told you a newer version is out and it has not been loaded yet, the overlay you are looking at is the old one. Download from tail.family/download/, unzip, and Load unpacked the new folder. Two copies at once draw two overlays. A TAIL loaded before 22 September 2026 has a different extension id, so the browser treats it as a separate extension and both render on the same page. Remove the older one. A moved folder stops it entirely. Your browser runs TAIL from the folder you chose at Load unpacked — if that folder was moved, renamed or deleted, the extension cannot start. Put it back, or load it again from where it is now. Installing from [the Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hnhoeodphhdfafcfkhopdnjgeclaokgd) on top of a downloaded copy will not work until you remove the downloaded one. They are the same extension with the same id, and a browser holds one copy of an id at a time. Remove the folder you loaded, then install from the store. The download stays available either way — it is there so there is a way in that does not depend on the store. ## My deposit or withdrawal is still pending. Check the chain, asset, address, and transaction from the original action. For a routed deposit or withdrawal, inspect the route’s current state as well as the source transaction. Avoid sending the same transfer again while the first result is uncertain. A second transfer is another money action, not a refresh button. ## What to keep when something needs investigation. Keep the time, the signal or receipt, the transaction hash if one exists, the network, and the exact message shown. Those identify the event without exposing your wallet keys. Never include a private key, seed phrase, sign-in code, or session token. A screenshot should show the problem, not your credentials. ## Related guides - [Their move.
