Your first tail.

Start with a person, not a button.

TAIL brings the traders you follow into the places you already trade. The web app is where you manage your account, wallet, copy rules, and positions. The extension brings trader context and alerts into supported terminals.

Current trader discovery starts with FOMO. New sources, including PumpSwap profiles and Axiom and GMGN callouts, are planned. The journal explains what is coming; the coverage guide distinguishes it from what is available.

Set up your account.

1. Open the TAIL app and sign in using an available sign-in option.
2. Open Wallet to see the wallets associated with your account. Use the app’s deposit flow when you are ready to fund live trading.
3. Add the traders you want to tail. A follow is a choice about whose activity you want to see; it is not a reason to assume that live copying is on.
4. Open your copy settings and check the mode before you continue.

Install the extension.

There are two ways to install TAIL. The Chrome Web Store is the one to use: it installs in one click and it updates itself, so you stay current without doing anything. tail.family/download/ is a direct download that works whether or not the store does, and it always carries the newest build — the store's copy can be a version behind it, because Google reviews every update before it goes out. Either way it is the same extension with the same id, so nothing you set up is lost by choosing one. The steps below are the direct download's: it arrives as a folder you load into your browser yourself, which is why it takes four steps rather than one.

1. Unzip the download.
2. Open your browser's extensions page and turn on Developer mode.
3. Choose Load unpacked, and pick the folder you unzipped.
4. Pin TAIL to your toolbar and sign in.

Keep the folder, and how updates work.

Your browser runs TAIL from the folder you picked, so leave it where it is. Moving, renaming or deleting that folder stops the overlay, and putting it back or loading it again fixes it.

When a newer version is out, the TAIL popup says so. Download it, unzip it, and Load unpacked the new folder the same way — it replaces the old copy and you stay signed in, because every download carries the same extension id.

One exception: a copy loaded before 22 September 2026 has a different id. Remove that one first, or both copies draw their own overlay on the same page.

Choose what following means.

Make the rules yours.

Check your size per copy, daily limits, entry constraints, and exit settings. Market-cap profiles can give different sizes and rules to different ranges. A setting on a profile can change how a particular copy is handled, so review the active profile as well as the account defaults.

Paper mode lets you understand the flow without sending an order. A paper result is a simulation, not a promise of the price a live trade will get.

Know where to look afterwards.

Activity explains what happened to a signal: copied, skipped, or refused. Your positions and receipts show your own fills. If a trade was skipped, read its reason before changing a limit; the limit may be doing exactly what you asked it to do.

Live copies run on TAIL’s servers. Closing your laptop is not the way to switch them off. Change your copy mode in the app when you want automatic copying to stop.
